Step-by-Step Breakdown

Step One: Sign Up

»Sign your housing contract and addendum*

*If you are under the age of 18, then you will be required to have a parent or guardian co-sign your housing contract and addendum. Instructions will be available via the portal.

»Pay the one-time, non-refundable, processing fee in the amount of $150

»Review additional meal plan details

»Provide preferred and emergency contact information

»Create and confirm your roommate group

»The deadline to complete this step is 12 p.m. (ET) on May 24

Step Two: Time Ticket Notification

»Your time ticket will identify the date and time you may log in and select your housing assignment, which is also referred to as room selection.

»Your time ticket will be sent to you via email to your Clemson University account.

»This notification will be sent on the evening of May 25.

Step Three: Room Selection

»May 30-31

»Nightly beginning at 5 p.m. (ET)

»Similar to selecting a room on a cruise boat or picking a seat on an airplane, you will log in to the portal and select a housing assignment.

»Log in on the date and time specified on your time ticket and select your housing assignment or you and your roommates’ housing assignments.

Room Selection Priority

»Priority is based upon the size of the group.

»Breakdown of Priority:

››››Groups of four receive the highest level of priority.

››››Then, groups of three receive the next level of priority.

››››Next, groups of two receive priority.

››››Finally, singles receive the lowest level of priority.

»Priority Within Each Group Size:

››››Priority within the same group size is random.

››››Our system can only accommodate a certain number of students in the portal at any given time. As a result, we must limit the number of time slots assigned per time period. It is very likely that different time slots will be assigned to roommate groups of the same size.

››››The following is a hypothetical scenario and is provided solely as an example for further clarification.

Each time slot can accommodate approximately 50 students. Let’s say there are 150 groups of two. As far as time slots, 50 groups of two will log in at 9 p.m. and select their housing assignment. Then another 50 groups of two will log in at 9:15 p.m. and make their selection. Finally, the last 50 groups of two will log in at 9:30 p.m. and select a housing assignment.

Important Dates

»Notification of your room selection date and time, which is your time ticket, will be sent on the evening of May 25

»Room selection will be held on the evenings of May 30 and 31, and we will have staff in the office available to answer any questions you may have while selecting your housing assignment.

»Move-In Day is Saturday, August 18. Following room selection, specifically sometime between June 11 and August 5, you will be able to log into the portal and select a move-in appointment.
