RISE – Residents In Science and Engineering

RISE is a unique residential community designed for first-year students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) majors at Clemson University in the College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences and the College of Science.

RISE Application Update: The official RISE application has closed, however, RISE will consider students from the waitlist as spots become available. Please fill out the Waitlist Interest Form if you wish to be considered. Contact the RISE team for access to the form at clemsonrise@clemson.edu.

LLC Overview

CLEMSON RISE is a cornerstone first-year experience, recognized for providing the tools you need to succeed in your transition to Clemson and throughout your first year as a student in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences or the College of Science.

Students who enroll in RISE:

Are supported academically, professionally, and socially;
Live in suite-style housing in Mickel Hall, overlooking Memorial Stadium – where the Tigers play!
Utilize convenient in-hall tutoring services five nights a week;
Learn together in cohorted courses – building a stronger academic foundation;
Mentored by faculty who lead hands-on skill-building boot camps and workshops;
Create and innovate with 3-D printing, microcontroller, robotics, and design-thinking and prototyping resources in the 24/7 in-hall Makerspace; and
Receive tailored career and development resources with access to talent and strengths coaching.

RISE supports engineering and science disciplines that have been at the heart of Clemson for more than 100 years. In fact, RISE was one of the first Living-Learning Communities to be established and has been in popular demand ever since.

Location: Mickel Hall
Roommate Policy: May only request other program participants
Restrictions: Major specific, and must room with other program participants.
Application: Beginning with the Fall 2023 cohort, RISE will now require a program application. Visit the RISE webpage to complete the application.
Fee: $750.00 per semester*
