Honors Residential College
LLC Overview
As one of Clemson University’s coeducational suite-style residence halls, the Honors Residential College offers residents opportunities specially tailored to the interests and needs of Honors students. Residents will build community with other students with similar intellectual curiosity and passion for interdisciplinary studies. The Honors Residential College space seamlessly integrates living and learning spaces to promote connection through social, academic, professional, and leadership development opportunities. Honors College staff and advisors are in the space to provide continuous support. Students also have the benefit of interacting with Faculty in Residence who lives in the honors community and provide an extra level of academic and professional support.
- The Great Hall of the Honors Center is affectionately referred to as “the living room” and is host to many gatherings, including the Honors Blitz, alumni speaker series, guest lecturers, Lunch & Learns, poster sessions and research symposiums, networking and professional development events, The Great Honors Bake Off, game watches, trivia nights and more.
- Two classrooms where Honors seminar courses are held
- Access to study and lounge space including the Great Hall, library, and group study rooms all located in the Honors Residential College at Cribb & DesChamps Halls
- Study lounges, kitchens, and laundry located in the residence halls
- Honors staff offices located in the same building, allowing for convenient access to honors advising and support services
- Residential Community Mentors who are also honors students and provide peer-advising
- Mentoring through the SASH (Seniors Advising Sophomores in Honors) program.
- Access to free printing in the Honors Center student workroom
- Endless coffee from the Keurig® Coffee Stations in the Honors Center kitchen

- In the opening year of the Honors Center, more than 2,000 students, faculty and staff attended more than 70 scheduled events and programs.
- Residents reported an increase in feeling connected to others within the Honors College, feeling respected and accepted by other members of the Clemson Honors College.
- Residential Colleges are more immersive than a typical Living-Learning Community in that they offer residential, academic, study, advising, and dining spaces all in one place. They exist to make a large campus feel smaller.
- The Honors Residential College is a nationally recognized facility that opened in 2016 and was designed specifically to support the needs of Honors students
- In a recent Honors College post-graduation survey, 94% of those who lived in the Honors Residential College their first year agreed or strongly agreed that “the Honors Residential College enhanced my experience at Clemson.”
- Honors students have shared that living in the Honors Residential College is “truly a community” and that it “made this big campus feel smaller and more like home.” Another student shared that “living in the Honors Residential College for two years was one of the best parts of being an Honors student.
