Clemson University was founded in 1889 as a military school and is rich with military tradition. Promoting Clemson’s tradition of superior military achievement, the Army ROTC LLC brings cadets together to create camaraderie, bolstering the success of new cadets. The Army ROTC program instills a sense of self in each cadet through recognition of individual responsibility and motivation. Cadets who participate in the community are able to summarize the skills necessary to become a commissioned officer by demonstrating Army Core Values — leadership, discipline, respect, selfless service, honesty, integrity and personal courage.

What To Expect

  • Mentoring from supportive upper-class cadets
  • Additional Military Leadership learning opportunities
  • Training in Day and Night Land Navigation

Did You Know?

Throughout the academic year Army ROTC cadets often
participate in:

  • Military movie nights — analyzing different leadership styles from classic military movies
  • Outdoor adventure trips and outings to Clemson’s high ropes courses
  • ROTC labs and activities along side other cadets who live in the community

Student Perspective

“Being new to Clemson, the LLC helped me make connections right away with students that I had the same interests and beliefs with. The older Cadets, as well as some of my own classmates, living nearby has helped greatly when I needed advice.”
– Rollins Jolly, Army ROTC Cadet
