What do you do at Clemson Home?
Community Director of Calhoun Courts South
Why would someone typically contact you?
Residents (and parents/guardians) often contact me regarding on-campus housing and roommate concerns, specifically in Calhoun Courts. Occasionally, residents will contact with me pertaining to other inquiries, including but not limited to CARE, Conduct Hearings, job opportunities with Clemson Home, or academic resources.
What other resources may be helpful prior to reaching out?
General housing information can be found on the Clemson Home website or the Clemson Home Portal. Our Resident Assistants and Graduate Community Directors are also incredibly helpful. If there are specific concerns or a need for a higher level of guidance/support, please contact me by phone or email.
What do you like about working at Clemson Home?
I enjoy working with students as they grow and learn to navigate the ins and outs of living with others.
What's your background?
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Science Promotion and Education with a Minor in Pan-African Studies from Clemson University. After graduating, I spent a short time as a Behavioral Counselor for the Department of Mental Health before transferring agencies to the Department of Health and Environmental Control. I devoted over six wonderful years with DHEC as a Nutritionist and a Certified Lactation Counselor working with pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women and infants and children under five years of age. Wanting a change of pace and scenery, I earned my Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Columbia College (Columbia, South Carolina).
What are the values that drive you?
Authenticity, Consistency, Kindness, and Respect
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I am artsy and thoroughly enjoy visiting quaint little shops to paint pottery, do some woodwork, or make candles. Shopping, including window shopping, is probably my favorite pastime. I am all for a sale or an excellent bin win (if you know, you know!). Apart from that, I am an avid Sims fan! I own all the DLC for the Sims 4, and I always try to find time for the Sims. As a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., I appreciate the many opportunities to serve the community with my sorority. Above all else, I love spending time with my family or friends when I am not at work.
