Security | Clemson Home

Residential safety is of the utmost importance to us. Residents may seek assistance from staff at the community desk, open Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Additionally, we have staff on-call from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and on weekends, whenever residents are living on campus throughout the year.  Residents should look for centrally posted information that indicates the on-call number for their community. All residential facilities are equipped with sprinklers and life safety systems.

Additionally, Clemson University has its own police force that is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Residential Living has partnered with the Clemson University Police Department (CUPD) to form a liaison program to work together to enhance community building and public safety efforts. Each community is assigned an officer to work with throughout the academic year. We collaborate in a multitude of ways including, but not limited to: community walks, programs, and problem solving.

CUPD has a student based division, Student Patrol. Student Patrol officers walk campus on a nightly basis and check doors to ensure they are properly secured. They also troubleshoot any potential safety issues and report them to CUPD.

Tiger Transit is an on-campus shuttle system operated by Student Patrol. Tiger Transit operates 7 days a week from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. when classes are in session. Tiger Transit provides door-to-door rides to and from any on campus location. There are many ways to request a ride, including calling 864-656-3333 or by requesting a ride online. Please visit
