Transfer Student Housing Sign-up

The Transfer Housing Sign-Up Process will not be available for Academic Year 2021-22

University Housing & Dining will be unable to offer housing contracts to incoming transfer students for 2021-22. We regret that availability of spaces will not allow us to do so. Assistance with locating off-campus housing can be found on the Off-Campus Living Page.

You may still purchase a Commuter meal plan. View your options and then select your choice through the Clemson Home Portal.

FAQs

How Does Priority for Housing Work?

The size of your roommate group determines your sign-up priority. Groups of four receive the highest level of sign-up priority, followed by groups of three, then groups of two and finally singles. Time slots are randomly assigned to each group. Each student will receive an email with this timeslot, but only one of you will need to log in to select for the whole group.

How will I know when I can select my housing?

You will receive an email with a timeslot. If you have chosen to be part of a roommate group, each member of the group will receive the same timeslot and only one of you should log in to select a space. If you are in a group of 3 or 4, be sure that you have discussed with your roommates how the group will be split into the rooms in the apartment. If there are no spaces available for your group size, you may need to split up and one person from each apartment will need to select.

What if I don’t know who I want my roommate to be?

Don’t worry! The Clemson Home Portal has a roommate matching option, so you will be able to create a profile, answer the lifestyle questions, and search for other students who may be a good fit as a roommate.

Do I have to live on-campus and purchase a meal plan?

No. Transfer students are not required to live on campus. Housing is only required for first year and Bridge students.

Is housing guaranteed for me?

Housing is guaranteed and required only for first year and Bridge to Clemson students. On campus housing is prioritized for new-to campus students with the goal of supporting them during their transition and ensuring their engagement and success during that critical first year. Continuing and transfer students are offered housing as available.

How can I cancel my contract?

  • You may cancel your contract at any time prior to Room Selection by emailing Clemson Home at clemsonhome@clemson.edu.
  • If you have selected a space, but it has not yet been 72 hours since you got your space, you may cancel your contract through the housing portal.
  • If it has been more than 72 hours since you got your space, the contract is legally binding. You would need to file an appeal to request a cancellation based on extenuating circumstances. If you withdraw from the University, you will be able to fill out a school-related cancellation request in the Clemson Home Portal.

What housing options are available to me?

Transfer students are able to live in the Transfer Residential Community.
