SUMMARY:Join Us for a Life-Saving Blood Drive at Vickery Hall/ Horseshoe!
DESCRIPTION:The Blood Connection is bringing a blood donation truck to Vickery Hall on Thursday\, April 2nd\, and we need YOU to show up and make an impact! Not only will your donation help save lives in our local community\, but it also supports fundraising for the American Heart Association\, one of the nation’s leading organizations in heart health awareness\, research\, and education.\n💉 Why this matters:\nOnly about 3% of eligible Americans donate blood each year\, even though millions of patients need it for surgeries\, injuries\, and chronic illnesses like leukemia.\nThe Blood Connection is the sole provider of blood products to hospitals throughout the Upstate\, meaning donors directly support neighbors\, friends\, and family in local care facilities.\nEvery two seconds\, someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion\, and every donation counts.\nNearly 25% of donated blood in the U.S. is used by cancer patients\, highlighting how vital these donations are for ongoing treatment and recovery.\n🎉 Incentives for donors:\nThe first 20 donors will trigger a $500 donation from The Blood Connection to the American Heart Association!\nFor every 30 donors after that\, another $500 will be donated\, so the more you give\, the more we raise!\nAll students who donate receive $30 as a thank you (one donation per student).\n🩸 Who can donate:\nMost healthy individuals ages 16+ are eligible to donate\, and the process is quick\, safe\, and rewarding.\nEven if someone can’t donate themselves\, coming out to support friends and spread the word matters\, every donation has the potential to save multiple lives.\n📍 Where & When:Vickery Hall\, Clemson UniversityThursday\, April 2nd\nHosted by: Clemson Heart Association\nAdditional Information can be found at: https://clemson.campuslabs.com/engage/event/12282110

SUMMARY:NSF I-Corps Workshop

Workshop Outcomes: -Provide participants with a new framework to view their research goals. -Expose participants to the entrepreneurial mindset\, and how it can help guide their research and career. -Inspire researchers to explore–through outside stakeholders and their own community–how their research/discoveries might be implemented for societal impact. -Provide a set of tools to shape participants’ research objectives to be more use-inspired and impactful. -Reduce psychological barriers and conceptual misunderstandings about innovation that prevent people from seeing themselves as inventors\, innovators\, and entrepreneurs.

SUMMARY:EC Trivia with Dr. Skip Eisiminger
DESCRIPTION:Please mark your calendar to attend one of the best monthly events at Clemson. Eat Susan’s delightful homemade brownies (Dr. Wainscott’s wife!) while you compete alongside goodhearted\, friendly folks while having fun with our host Dr. Skip Eisiminger! Do not miss the fun! Trivia has been defined as “things you either know immediately or not at all.” Skip’s trivia is like that. You can learn interesting stuff by participating on Zoom (no brownies that way!) or by joining in person. Some of the most interesting information is shared in conversation after each answer is revealed. EC folks are well-versed in countless topics. Skip occasionally features questions curated from presentations delivered at the Emeritus College. We continue to have the best conversations as a group of friends. Each session\, participants contribute a small amount to benefit deserving college students.
