SUMMARY:Guest Lecture - Nicholas E. Harman\, MS\, PE\, BC.GE (Geotechnical Design Policy Engineer at SCDOT)
DESCRIPTION:About the Speaker\nNicholas E. Harman\, MS\, PE\, BC.GE serves as the Geotechnical Design Policy Engineer at the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Headquarters. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) from Virginia Tech.\nMr. Nick is a Board-Certified Geotechnical Engineer (BC.GE) and a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). He brings extensive experience in geotechnical design\, policy development\, and infrastructure engineering\, providing technical leadership and statewide guidance for geotechnical practice at SCDOT.\nAbout the Topic\nSouth Carolina has a diverse geologic framework that has shaped its landscapes\, natural resources\, and engineering challenges. This presentation will introduce the major geologic regions of the state\, including the Blue Ridge\, Piedmont\, and Coastal Plain provinces\, and describe how differences in rock type\, weathering\, and soil formation influence site conditions. Key transitions such as the Fall Line and the development of saprolite and residual soils will be highlighted to explain why subsurface conditions vary significantly across relatively short distances. Examples from across the state will be used to illustrate how these geologic characteristics affect construction\, foundation behavior\, and geotechnical design in practice\, along with the effects of seismic design.\nHosted by: American Society of Civil Engineers Geo-Institute Graduate Student Organization\nAdditional Information can be found at: https://clemson.campuslabs.com/engage/event/12166638

SUMMARY:2026 Actuarial / Financial Math Winter Expo
DESCRIPTION:The Actuarial Science and Financial Math Winter Expo is a boutique career fair for Clemson University students and alumni who are interested in pursuing careers as actuaries or in the general areas of financial math or risk management\, and it is open to everyone — including freshmen! Many of the representatives who attend are Clemson alumni who are happy to be back on campus and are excited to meet current students. Not only is it a great way to land a full-time job or internship\, it helps students forge relationships with representatives who will return to campus the following years.

SUMMARY:2nd Interest Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Do you like to bowl? If you do\, then this club is for you!\nWe meet every Monday night and bowl three games at Boulevard Lanes. We start at 7:20pm and we have 10 minutes of practice/warm up before we officially start. This allows us to warmup and gives additional time to students who might be running behind!\nBowling shoes are included and house balls are accessible. \nThis club is just for fun but we also provide resources and coaching to students who would like to learn more about the sport and participate in leagues/tournaments.\nWe have a semester fee of $30. For the first two interest meetings it will be $4.50 so students can try out our club without paying the full fee at the start! The $4.50 you pay each week will subtract from the $30 fee!\nWe offer car pooling as well 🙂\nHope to see you at club 🙂\nHosted by: Clemson Strikers\nAdditional Information can be found at: https://clemson.campuslabs.com/engage/event/12185246
