SUMMARY:NSF I-Corps Workshop
DESCRIPTION:CURF will be hosting an I-Corps Workshop. This informative hour-long session will provide useful information about the NSF I-Corps program and Clemson’s membership in the Southeast Hub. Attendees can talk with our staff and learn how they can play a part in translating their research efforts from the lab to the real world. Workshop Outcomes: -Provide participants with a new framework to view their research goals. -Expose participants to the entrepreneurial mindset\, and how it can help guide their research and career. -Inspire researchers to explore–through outside stakeholders and their own community–how their research/discoveries might be implemented for societal impact. -Provide a set of tools to shape participants’ research objectives to be more use-inspired and impactful. -Reduce psychological barriers and conceptual misunderstandings about innovation that prevent people from seeing themselves as inventors\, innovators\, and entrepreneurs.

SUMMARY:Evidence of Advanced Ancient Megalithic Civilizations with Vince Jackson
DESCRIPTION:Vince presents evidence from around the world that ancient cultures evolved and then devolved to the Stone Age due to a cataclysmic event that destroyed these advanced civilizations. Somewhat controversial\, but the preponderance of information points to what some researchers believe proves life of earth has ebbed and flowed and we are only now beginning to understand our past. Join us to discuss and learn about this fascinating subject. Vince will present evidence that will certainly make you think we may need to re-examine our understanding of ancient Egypt\, Peru\, Mexico\, Turkey\, and other areas. Things we call myths may hold clues to past civilizations that existed 10\,000 years ago.
