SUMMARY:Who is minding your privacy?:  A screening and conversation
DESCRIPTION:Privacy: what is it\, why does it matter\, can we still have it?   Join Clemson University Chief Privacy Officer Theo Wills in a screening of the documentary\, Privacy People\, where leading privacy experts explore these questions and uncover the origins and future of the profession. Privacy People explores the varied interpretations of what privacy is and its importance to individuals and societies. Focusing on the events that raised cultural awareness of big data and surveillance\, the film reflects on the common refrain that “privacy is dead.” The story is told by some of the world’s most prominent experts from government\, industry\, academia\, and civil society\, including past and present Chief Privacy Officers from Apple\, AirBnB\, Intel\, and Uber\, and Privacy Commissioners for the United Kingdom and Canada. The screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion.
